A wonderful, sunny day at Ardingly Antiques Fair

I had a brilliant day yesterday, my sister and I set off to ardingly for the huge antique fair hosted at the South of England Showground. The weather looked set fair, and was fantastic, the sun shone warmly, and brought out the visitors in droves.

It was lovely to see Lizzie (The Washerwoman)in her usual place, with some wonderful treasures, including a beautiful 1800s gown that I was sorely tempted by, but forgot to photograph...

Lizzies's stand looked as beautiful as ever, and I was really pleased to find a gorgeous piece of Victorian embroidered border, and the sweetest little vintage corset, patched with such pretty rosebud fabric! So charming! I had to have it, I love antique and vintage textiles with patches and darns. And what a hat!

I bought a lot of wonderful stock at the fair (I am pretending it is stock, when really I shall keep some, as I won't be able to part with it), some very special pieces which I shall photograph for a separate posting in a day or two. All in all a fantastic day.
