A beautiful escape from reality, the imaginative depiction of Fantastic Beasts in French textiles. Beasts from fairy tales or myths & legends always capture our imaginations and remind us of thrilling tales told to us as children. Beauty & the Beast. Perhaps there is a bit of the Beast and some of the child in all of us, which is why we love these imaginative images so much.

ReplyDeleteHello Lois,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW! Your fabrics are beautiful. I am a fiber mixed media artist and quilt historian living in Indiana USA. I love fabric and fabric history. Several years ago I aquired a piece of french toile that has two different scenes. I have been trying to do some research on it. What I have discovered is one scene deals with a Roman General who was disgraced and blinded. His name alludes me now, I need to go and get my notes. I would love to compare notes with you sometime. Anyway your blog is beautiful and I shall visit often. fiberartistrpl.blogspot.com Paulette L.
